Wat een bijzonder album is Daddy’s Country Gold van Melissa Carper. Who needs de teletijdmachine van professor Barabas, als je ook gewoon naar dit album kunt luisteren om terug in de tijd te reizen? Zo overtuigend worden hier de jaren 40 en 50 neergezet door deze in Nashville wonende Carper. Dit is haar officiële solodebuut, na een paar platen met een muzikale partner (o.a. als de Buffalo Gals Band).
